About Us

Our Focus on Quality

our focus on quality

The primary mission of Pediatric  Associates’ providers and staff is to provide quality medical services with an emphasis on delivering clinical excellence and outstanding customer service in a warm and welcoming family-friendly environment.  Here is a snapshot of the programs and services offered by the practice:

Disease Management Programs

Asthma Management:  We offer a comprehensive asthma assessment process and easy-to-follow guidance for home care.  If your child wheezes or you suspect he/she may have asthma, ask our staff about scheduling an evaluation.

Obesity: Overweight children are at higher risk for developing many diseases, including diabetes, cancer, and depression.  Let us help your family adopt healthy habits to help your child lose weight responsibly and with long-term success.

ADHD Screening:  If you are concerned that your child may have Attention Deficit or Hyperactivity Disorder, please ask your provider to screen your child for this disease. We will provide you with important guidance on parenting, school performance, and treatments with and without medication.

Case Management:  We believe the best possible care is given when parents have additional support and guidance from their doctor’s office.  If your insurance plan participates in our Case Management Program, we can provide you with an enhanced referral process, important health reminders & education, and other targeted services to help guide you.

Clinical Excellence:  The best way to keep you child healthy is to prevent illness and promote healthy activities.  At Pediatric Associates, your child’s health care team focuses on state-of-the-art, evidence-based medicine so that your child is protected.

  • Well Child Exam Rates / Immunization Success Rates:  Pediatric Associates consistently excels in our well visit and immunization success rates.  We offer annual well visit reminders around your child’s birthday as well as focused vaccine outreach.  You can be sure that your child’s preventative exam is a priority for both you and your Pediatric Associates care team.
  • Evidence-Based Medicine:  To ensure that your child receives the best possible care and that all of our providers are up-to-date on the latest medical standards, we have internal committees who review, audit and provide ongoing education for our providers and staff.  Our entire practice is committed to providing quality, cost-effective medicine for your family.

Quality is Our Mission

At Pediatric Associates our doctors and staff are dedicated to providing the best care for you and your child.  The following data will show how well we perform compared to other Florida pediatricians and to national standards.  The data presented is provided by the Florida Pediatric Medical Home Project, a 15 month study conducted by the Florida Department of Health, the Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act, and the U.S Department of Health and Human Services (read more here).  We will also share some statistics relating to our success in managing our patients with Asthma.  The data that you see below are tabulated by the Florida Pediatric Medical Home Demonstration Project results for 2011.

We are very proud of our success so far, but we are always focused on doing better; as we know it is an honor to be your pediatrician.

The next chart demonstrate our success in vaccinating our patients compared to the Gold Standard – Medical Home Goal.  Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) is a special recognition that only a few pediatricians achieve.  We are in the process of applying for this recognition and have received excellent scores so far.  Our goal is to perform better than the “Medical Home Goal” in all areas.

Pediatric Associates began a unique Asthma Education program to help our patients with the most severe form of asthma.  This program involves specially trained Asthma Educators in each of our offices who work with patients and parents to improve their understanding of the disease. As a result of our asthma program, we are proud to share that we saw an 85% decrease in the number of ER visits in 2011 and a 79% reduction in 2012.  We also saw a 96% decrease in the number of hospitalizations in these asthmatic patients in 2011, and 89% in 2012.

Another key area we are focusing on is improving how our parents rate us on our communication.  While our current results are comparable to other pediatricians, we are dedicated to doing even better.  We will be surveying our parents and patients more frequently so that we can improve.
