Most services are covered, but we do recommend you contact your insurance company to verify your plan benefits. Below are a few suggested questions to ask:
- Is your plan an HMO which requires an assigned PCP? If yes, verify Pediatric Associates is your assigned PCP.
- Are preventive medicine visits (Well care) a covered service. If yes, what are the limitations?
- Do I have a co-pay or deductible?
- Is there additional patient responsibility if the services are provided after hours?
Call our Billing Department at 954-967-6400 ext 7422 and we will be glad to assist you with that process.

Yes. As a patient of Pediatric Associates, your child can be seen at any of our more than 90 locations. For example, if you’re traveling with your child who gets sick and you’re closer to a location other than your primary one, you can schedule an appointment for that office. It is recommended, however, that you pick one office as your primary location, where your primary provider and electronic chart remain.
Walk-ins will be scheduled for the next available appointment (which may be at a different location or the following morning if the visit is not a medical emergency), but will not be able to be seen immediately. We encourage everyone to make an appointment. We have quick online access to scheduling sick and well appointments on our site.
Existing patients can schedule a well or sick visit online with exceptions below*. It is important to note that you must type in your child’s name exactly how it appears in our records to be able to access an online appointment. For instance, do not type in nicknames.
Types of visits that cannot be scheduled online
- Any visits for a child under two months
- The first evaluation for ADD or ADHD
- Pre-operative clearance
- Injuries (ie: lacerations, broken bones, sprains)
- Respiratory distress
- Shot or Lab only
You can schedule a “shot only” appointment by calling the office.
You can schedule well visits up to one year ahead of time.
We strive to get you in and out of your appointments as quickly as possible. If it’s a particular busy day with a lot of sick visits or emergencies, you may wait longer. If you are not committed to any particular provider, you can request an appointment with our ‘First Available’. Please note that the best time to schedule your visit is first thing in the morning or first thing after lunch.
- On-site laboratories in all offices
- X-rays in most offices
- Minor surgical procedures
- Hearing & vision testing
- Ear piercing from 3 months
We have a variety of classes that we offer throughout the year in many of our locations or online, including new parent, breastfeeding, & birthing 101 classes. Visit our Classes & Events section for offerings, times and locations.

If your child is sick in the hospital, he/she will be visited by one of our affiliated hospitalists who will keep your pediatrician informed on his/her condition. A post-hospital visit with your pediatrician will likely be scheduled after your child is discharged.
Unless your child is sick, children over age 3 are generally seen once a year for their annual check up. The easiest way to remember this is to schedule his/her visit around their birthday.
- During your children’s first year of life, well visits are scheduled 3 days after birth, at 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months and at 12 months.

A telemedicine visit is a phone consultation or video conference with a Pediatric Associates provider. Based on certain qualifying conditions, this type of visit can be conducted instead of going into the office to be seen.
Telemedicine visits can be conducted over the phone or via videoconferencing. There is a $49 fee for this service, however your insurance company will be billed first and the patient is responsible for the portion the insurance company does not cover.
If your child has not been seen for the condition you would like a referral for, you will need to schedule an appointment at our office. When your referral is completed, you will be contacted by our office. This should be completed within 5-7 business days.
