Q&A with Jane

What is your favorite animated movie or cartoon?

Ratatouille

What is your favorite children's book?

My favorite children's book is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone because it's a story about finding where you belong and discovering that life holds more than what we see on the surface.

What was your favorite childhood toy?

I had a beloved stuffed, green dragon named Havian who slept by my side every night.

Who is your greatest inspiration?

My mom has been my greatest inspiration. She showed me the importance of hard work, resilience, and caring for others, and her example continues to guide the way I support children and their families.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?

Spending time with my family, gardening, fishing, being outside, cooking, baking, tennis, and going on walks with our English Springer Spaniel.

What inspired you to work in pediatrics?

I've always had a passion for working with children. Each stage of childhood is unique, and I truly enjoy watching children learn, grow, and experience the world. I strive to create a supportive and comfortable environment for both children and their families. I'm especially passionate about promoting healthy habits early in life and partnering with parents to help prevent chronic illnesses and support lifelong well-being.

What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?

My background in the pediatric emergency department and ICU has taught me how to stay calm and act quickly when a child needs urgent care, always with their safety as my top priority. I'm also comfortable performing procedures like laceration repair and aim to provide as much care as possible in the office to make things easier for families.
Building strong, trusting relationships with children and their families is very important to me. I take the time to listen, answer questions, and make sure parents feel heard and supported every step of the way. I strive to create a welcoming, compassionate environment and am committed to providing thoughtful, culturally respectful care to every family I serve.

How do you accommodate patients with special needs?

Yes- I am committed to providing compassionate, individualized care for children with a wide range of needs and work closely with families to ensure each child feels supported and comfortable. When appropriate, I collaborate with or refer to specialists to ensure the best possible care.
