Q&A with Lynn
What is your favorite animated movie or cartoon?
My son really loves dinosaurs, and I enjoy watching Jurassic Park with him!
What is your favorite children's book and why?
My current favorite children's book is Press Here by Hervé Tullet. This is such a fun book to read with my boys! My favorite book as a child was Stella Luna.
What was your favorite childhood toy?
I have always loved caring for things. My favorite childhood toys were my American Girl Doll and Bitty Baby.
Who is your greatest inspiration and why?
My parents. They have overcome many obstacles in their personal and professional lives and have shown me the greatest example of being a lifetime learner. You are never too old to learn new things!
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
My hobbies outside of work center around my family. I love to spend time with my husband and two boys (Leo and Luca). I love doing anything outdoors. I feel the most relaxed in nature. I love to hike, go boating, gardening, exercising, traveling, and music.
What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
I have always been passionate about health education and pediatrics allowed me to do this for my patient's starting from birth! I truly love providing my patients and families the knowledge they need to feel empowered regarding their health!
What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?
I think empathy in healthcare and life is very important. I am a mother myself, so I can relate to parents on a personal level. I strive to streamline information in an understandable language so my patients and their caregivers can make the best-informed medical decisions for their unique situations.
How do you accommodate patients with special needs?
I love to work with patients with special needs. I carry portable equipment, so I can perform an exam wherever the patient is comfortable. That may be on the exam table, or in their parent's arms!
