Q&A with Reginald
What is your favorite animated movie or cartoon?
A Charlie Brown Christmas
What is your favorite children's book and why?
Dr. Seuss’s ABC. It’s the basic, simple things that build our lives.
What was your favorite childhood toy?
A microphone
Who is your greatest inspiration and why?
My father. He was the strongest, smartest, most compassionate and understanding human I’ve ever known. I aspire to half the man he was.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
Working out, traveling, my dogs and food.
What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
I’ve always loved kids; they get it! I entered education to make a difference. I entered medicine for kids to make a difference in my life.
What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?
I learned a long time ago that people/patients will remember you by how you treat them. This will keep them coming back to see you. I try to make my patients feel like they are the most important thing in that exact moment: from their shoes, pants/shirt/dress, hair bows, ear rings—anything that makes them look at themselves as beautiful/handsome. When they leave smiling/happy, then I’ve done my job.
How do you accommodate patients with special needs?
We see a lot of patients who speak numerous languages. We utilize live translators to help aid in our visits. We also utilize sign interpreters for our deaf parents/patients. Our offices accommodate patients who are wheelchair bound or who have mobility issues.
