Q&A with Annaliese
What is your favorite animated movie or cartoon?
I enjoy watching most Disney/Pixar movies with my children.
What is your favorite children's book and why?
The only book that keeps coming to mind the the Little Red Hen. I enjoy this book because she is always asking for help and everyone is too busy and in the end she ends up doing the work by herself.
What was your favorite childhood toy?
I have always enjoyed collected pig items. I didn't really have a favorite toy except for my collection of pigs (which I still have today).
Who is your greatest inspiration and why?
My greatest inspiration has always been my mother. She went to nursing school full time with 4 children as a single mother and has always been the type of nurse and leader I have always wanted to be. She is and will always be my greatest inspiration to continue to do my best and continue to grow as a professional.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
I enjoy reading, fishing, traveling, and spending time with my family. I also am a clinical instructor for nursing students and love teaching.
What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
I wanted to become a nurse practitioner to give back. I have always enjoyed medicine and fell in love with nursing. I enjoyed taking care of patients and found my love of pediatrics while working in the field of nursing taking care of those from 0 to 100. Being able to be positive and give reassurance to the parents has always been rewarding and I want to continue doing so throughout my current practice. I enjoy learning and teaching which is the heart of nursing.
What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?
Teaching, educating and taking my time has always been my way to build rapport with my patients and families.
