Whether it’s ruling out a long bone fracture or completing a routine scoliosis screening, children’s X-rays are a valuable tool we use to provide timely and accurate treatment. The results are interpreted by board-certified pediatric radiologists and can be securely shared through the patient portal or sent directly to referring providers via email, supporting continuity of care.

Early imaging not only provides peace of mind, but allows our pediatric radiology experts to guide your child’s treatment faster and more effectively – avoiding delays in care that could impact how they heal.

An in-depth look at injuries and illnesses

An in-depth look at injuries and illnesses

If your child takes a tumble and has pain, swelling, bruising, or cannot bear weight on one of their limbs, it may be hard to tell by sight alone if they have a broken bone. Long bone and extremity X-rays enable us to quickly confirm or rule out any fractures, misalignments, or other issues and recommend more advanced imaging like MRI or CT scans when needed.

Coughs, fevers, and breathing difficulties are common in children. When clinically appropriate, pediatric chest radiology (chest X-rays) can be used to diagnose lower respiratory conditions like pneumonia or asthma, leading to more accurate treatment and fewer complications.

We can also use chest X-rays to monitor the progress of known respiratory conditions or assess the effectiveness of ongoing treatment – think of them as an open window into your child’s health.

Skip the extra stop

There’s no need to travel to an unfamiliar facility like emergency rooms and urgent care facilities. Our pediatric-trained teams ensure your child receives safe, high-quality imaging in a setting they know and trust. Performing X-rays in-office reduces anxiety for children and parents alike, while improving coordination of care with your child’s primary provider.

Scoliosis screenings for early detection and intervention

Scoliosis screenings for early detection and intervention

If your child has scoliosis, their spine curves abnormally to the side, often in an “S” or “C” shape. Without proper care, the curves can cause pain, breathing difficulties, and affect your child’s mobility.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends scoliosis screening for girls between the ages of 10-12 and boys between the ages of 13-14. These screenings are typically performed during annual well visits to detect any abnormal spinal curvature.

In-office X-rays allow us to confirm suspected cases of scoliosis and refer your child for timely treatment if needed – supporting healthy development during their most critical growth years.
