Q&A with Brandi
What is your favorite animated movie or cartoon?
I love any of the "classic" Disney films. My favorite has always been Pocahontas - it has some of my favorite Disney songs.
What is your favorite children's book and why?
As a young child I always enjoyed Dr. Suess books. I think the exciting colors, characters and whimsical worlds of Dr. Suess are so much fun. I have enjoyed reading the same books again with my own kids.
What was your favorite childhood toy?
I loved playing with Barbies as a child. It was always fun to use my imagination to come up with new stories.
Who is your greatest inspiration and why?
My greatest inspiration is absolutely my mom and dad. They have always been a huge support as I was going to school and because of them, I always knew that I could do anything that I set my mind to.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
I love to travel with my family! We especially love going to Disney. As a mom of 2 boys, I enjoy getting to spend time with them and watching them play and do the things they love. We tend to be a sports family - we love to watch football and hockey, both on TV and attending games when we can. I love getting to watch my oldest son try different sports as well.
What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
I have always loved working with kids. I worked as a dance teacher throughout high school and some of college and I knew I would always want to work with children. I started as a NICU nurse and loved getting to meet new families and watch the babies grow. I knew I would love doing the same thing thing as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - I love getting to know my patients and their families so well and feeling like I can truly make an impact in their health and wellness.
