Q&A with Dr. Ginsburg
What is your favorite animated movie or cartoon?
As a child, I used to love reading Garfield cartoons and even created some of my own cartoon characters that I would sketch. My favorite animated movie was Charlotte's Web.
What is your favorite children's book and why?
Iggie's House by Judy Blume. This is a beautiful story about friendship, family, inclusivity and diversity. We can learn many valuable lessons from children.
What was your favorite childhood toy?
Silly Sammy, a 1970's ride-on toy
Who is your greatest inspiration and why?
My greatest inspiration cannot be narrowed down to one person or one event. Collectively, my family has always and will always inspire me to love, appreciate, laugh, give and be the very best human I can be.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
Theater, hiking, music, art, and philanthropy.
What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
Kids are the best. They tell you like it is unapologetically. I remember not understanding what cancer was when I was younger. I couldn't fathom why someone should have to suffer, especially a child. I wanted to help ease the pain of a child and a family in need. As an adult, I still may not understand cancer or suffering, but I know that I am here to support and encourage my patients and their families as best I can.
