What is your favorite animated movie or cartoon?
Beauty and the Beast
What is your favorite children's book and why?
Library Mouse or Hush Now Banshee
I love Library Mouse because it teaches kids to overcome their fears and to keep trying new things.
I love Hush Now Banshee because its fun and silly and it's my son's favorite book.
What was your favorite childhood toy?
I loved spirographs! (hello 90's kids) It was so fun to see all the colors and designs I could come up with.
Who is your greatest inspiration and why?
Anne Frank, she believed the best in people. I strive to be like her.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
Outside of work I love to read all kinds of books but mainly mystery/thriller books and I also love baking and taking monthly trips to Disney with my son and husband- it's so fun to see my little's eyes light up when he sees the magic of Disney.
What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
Children. They are so resilient. They find joy in the most minute details. I want to be able to partner with children and their parents to maintain their health so they can continue to show us the wonder of the world.
What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?
I believe that playing is key to life. There are definitely times when we have to be serious in order to make accurate and appropriate decisions, however if we can play or tell jokes during our visits I believe doing so allows the child to be more relaxed which creates a more open connection and environment. I like to engage with the family as a unit rather than parents and child as separate entities. WE are a team taking care of the children.
