Q&A with Dr. Reyes-Romero
What is your favorite animated movie or cartoon?
Cinderella
What is your favorite children's book and why?
The Curious George series. George's insatiable curiosity often lands him in trouble, but ultimately he finds ways to set things right, either with assistance from the man in the yellow hat or through his own cleverness and determination.
What was your favorite childhood toy?
I had many, but dolls and puzzles were my favorites.
Who is your greatest inspiration and why?
My family and my two children.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
I enjoy staying active with outdoor activities, exploring new destinations through travel, and honing my skills in the kitchen with baking adventures.
What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
What inspired me to become a pediatrician is the incredible resilience and spirit of children. Witnessing their strength, joy, and determination in the face of challenges is truly inspiring. I am deeply moved by the opportunity to be a part of their growth journey, supporting them as they achieve important milestones in their lives. This sense of fulfillment and the ability to make a positive impact on the lives of children and their families continue to drive my passion for pediatric medicine.
What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?
What sets me apart as a pediatrician is my ability to connect with families on both a professional and personal level. I combine medical expertise with empathy, clear communication, and a calm, reassuring approach that helps parents feel confident and supported. I focus on education—explaining every step of a child’s care in a way that parents truly understand—so that together, we can make informed decisions. I also value continuity and trust: I take the time to listen, remember each child’s story, and celebrate every milestone with their family.
