Q&A with Dr. Seligsohn
What is your favorite animated movie or cartoon?
My favorite animated cartoon series of all time would have to be "The Simpsons."
What is your favorite children's book and why?
My favorite children's book would have to be "The Little Engine that Could." I am a firm believer in persistence, perseverance, and never giving up.
What was your favorite childhood toy?
My favorite childhood toy collection was by far, my SupePowers SuperHero action figure set, with Superman being my favorite one.
Who is your greatest inspiration and why?
By far, my greatest inspiration is my father. He showed me how to work hard for what you want, and how to always give selflessly to your family.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
My hobbies outside of work are enjoying quality time with my family, working out, playing table tennis, and barbecuing.
What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
As I grew older, the "child" in me never seemed to disappear. When I rotated through all of the various disciplines in medical school, I simply fell in love with pediatrics. "I do what I love, and I love what I do."
What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?
I think my unique ability to connect with patients and their parents has to be my ability to relate to young children with my "young child mentality." When I first enter an exam room and see a patient, and am quickly able to name the superhero that is on their shirt, the cartoon character that is on their backpack, or action toy that they brought into the office, they immediately become very impressed and display a super big smile.
How do you accommodate patients with special needs?
Our office provides accommodations for children with special needs.
