"The Rainbow Fish", because it teaches the importance of sharing and kindness in a simple but meaningful way.

What was your favorite childhood toy?

Barbie Dolls

Who is your greatest inspiration?

My greatest inspiration is my mother. She showed me, through both her words and actions, the importance of compassion and hard work. Watching her consistently put others first while staying dedicated to her goals shaped the way I approach both my personal life and my career.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?

Some of my favorite things to do outside of work are travel, cook and read.

What inspired you to work in pediatrics?

I was inspired to work in pediatrics through both personal and professional experiences. When my niece was born, I spent a lot of time babysitting her several times a week during nursing school, and I realized how much I genuinely enjoyed caring for young children. That experience, along with my earlier role as an art teacher for children ages 3–5, confirmed my passion for pediatrics. I loved their honesty, curiosity, and energy, and it also taught me the importance of patience and adapting my communication to different developmental stages.
Over time, I knew I wanted to take a more active role in patient care, which led me into nursing and ultimately pediatrics as a nurse practitioner. I’m especially drawn to the opportunity to not only provide clinical care, but also advocate for children and their families and make a meaningful impact in my community.

What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?

What sets me apart is my calm and patient demeanor, and a culturally competent, family-centered approach to care. I prioritize clear communication and active listening to ensure both children and their families feel heard, respected, and involved in the plan of care. I use age-appropriate techniques to connect with my patients while also providing parents with understandable education.

How do you accommodate patients with special needs?

I individualize care for children with special needs by adapting communication to their developmental level, creating a calm, supportive environment, and partnering closely with caregivers. I allow extra time to build trust and reduce anxiety, ensuring compassionate, patient-centered care.
