Whether you just delivered a newborn baby or your child needs specialty care, Pediatric Associates is with you every step of the way – even when you’re receiving care outside of our offices. We work closely with specialist doctors and hospitals to make sure your child gets the care they need, including the smooth transition of medical records and treatment plans once their hospital stay is over.
Congratulations on the birth of your new baby! When you’re at the hospital, you can expect your newborn to receive care from a pediatrician or a pediatric hospitalist (a primary care physician who works exclusively in a hospital environment). Though we make rounds at many hospitals, this pediatric doctor may or may not work for us, based on the rules in place by the hospital where you deliver.
However, you can see any pediatrician you want after you leave the hospital, and seeing a pediatrician post-delivery employed by a hospital does not guarantee you better care. Instead, you should pick a pediatrician based on the services they offer, their availability, their proximity to your home, and the quality of care you receive.

It’s hard for any parent to think about your child needing to spend time in the hospital.
As a Pediatric Associates patient, we’ll work hard for you to make sure that you get access to the specialty care your child needs and deserves – whether that means working with your insurance plan to get approval or finding specialists in your community who can help.
Even when your child is receiving care elsewhere, the Pediatric Associates team is still by your side, collaborating with their specialty care team to ensure that we get copies of all your child’s medical records. We also help you transition your child’s care back to the primary care environment when their treatment is complete.
