What is your favorite animated movie or cartoon?
I love Tom & Jerry. I was watching that in French as a young kid in Haiti.
What is your favorite children's book and why?
I didn't read a lot of books as a young child until I was around 8 years old and even then, I was reading the adult books in French. I would have to say the Dr. Seuss's series are some of my favorites because I have read them with my own kids.
What was your favorite childhood toy?
My dolls.
Who is your greatest inspiration and why?
My maternal aunt Elvita who passed away from breast cancer at age 62. She immigrated to NY in her 30's after leaving her only child behind in Haiti. She obtained a BSN in nursing in her 50's in NY and was pursuing an MSN degree when she died. I became a nurse because of her.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
Cooking, dancing, reading, and traveling.
What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
As a family nurse practitioner, I have worked with both adults and children. I find the latter to be more interesting to interact with. I believe I can teach them and help them to a healthy transition into adulthood before they start doing any real damage to their bodies.
