Yes. Please click on ‘Pay Bill’ found on the site navigation menu. Be sure to know your account number and total balance due when going to our online form as you will be asked for this information.

Most services are covered, but we do recommend you contact your insurance company to verify your plan benefits. Below are a few suggested questions to ask:

• Does your health plan require an assigned PCP (for example, an HMO?). If yes, verify that a Pediatric Associates provider is your assigned PCP. Generally, this will populate on your Member ID Card.

• Are there any limits on preventative care I need to know about? How is that different than my coverage for a sick visit?

• Do I have a co-pay or deductible?

• Is there additional patient responsibility if the services are provided after hours?

We are open 365 days a year, including nights and weekends.

• Regular Hours: Our offices are open for well and sick care from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

• After Hours: After-hours care is available for all patients in select locations during the hours listed below. Additional charges may apply for after-hours visits depending on your insurance.

• Monday through Friday- 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

  • Saturday- 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.

  • Sunday- 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Holidays- 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please note that you may incur additional fees for an after hours visit.

• Extended Hours: Select offices also have extended evening hours for well & sick care until 7 p.m.

Yes. As a patient of Pediatric Associates, your child can be seen at any of our more than 90 locations. For example, if you’re traveling with your child who gets sick and you’re closer to a location other than your primary one, you can schedule an appointment for that office. We recommend; however, that you pick one office as your home office where your primary provider is based.

Walk-ins will be scheduled for the next available appointment (which may be at a different location or the following morning if the visit is not a medical emergency), but will not be able to be seen immediately. We encourage everyone to make an appointment. We have quick online access to schedule an appointment.

Existing patients can schedule a well or sick visit online with exceptions below*. It is important to note that you must type in your child’s name exactly how it appears in our records to be able to access an online appointment. For instance, do not type in nicknames.
*Types of visits that cannot be scheduled online:

• Any visits for an infant under two months of age

• The first evaluation for ADD or ADHD

• Pre-operative clearance

• Injuries (ie: lacerations, broken bones, sprains)

• Respiratory distress

• Shot or Lab only

You can schedule a “shot only” appointment by calling the office.

You can schedule well visits up to one year ahead of time.

We strive to get you in and out of your appointments as quickly as possible. If it’s a particular busy day with a lot of sick visits or emergencies, you may wait longer. If you are not committed to any particular provider, you can request an appointment with our ‘First Available’. Please note that the best time to schedule your visit is first thing in the morning or first thing after lunch.

Yes. All sick children will be seen on the same day if possible. Every attempt will be made to schedule you with your primary provider at your home office or another provider at that location. If there is no availability you may be offered another location, an appointment in after hours for the same day, or a telemedicine visit. Please do not walk-in without an appointment.

If your child is experiencing a life-threatening emergency, dial 9-1-1. Otherwise, if your child is sick, always call your primary office first. An agent will ask questions to determine the urgency of the problem, then connect you with an appropriate resource. Many issues require only home care or a telemedicine visit in the comfort of your home, then follow up with your primary care location. For more urgent problems after regular business hours, you may be directed to the nearest Pediatric Associates after hours location, where you can bring in your child to be examined by one of our providers. (Please note that you may incur additional fees for an after hours visit.)

Phone coverage is provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If your call is related to a medical problem that requires urgent treatment, you will be routed to a pediatric nurse, who will answer your questions or connect you with an appropriate resource. You can also schedule a telemedicine appointments with a clinician via KIDZDOCNOW.

Gather these details (considering writing them down so you remember!):

• Your child’s age

• What you are concerned about

• Your child’s state of alertness (if concerned about lack of responsiveness, call 911 for emergent evaluation)

• How long it has been going on and has it been getting worse

• What you have done about your child’s illness

• Your child’s temperature

• Your child’s intake of fluids and output of urine and stool

Yes, all of our offices have separate sick and well waiting areas. Please comply with the posted signs and sit in the appropriate section.

Our providers are on staff at most of South Florida’s major hospitals. Please see our list under the Our Hospital Affiliations page in our Knowledge Center.

If your child is sick and admitted to a hospital where our providers have been granted privileges, he/she will be visited by one of our affiliated hospitalists who will keep your pediatrician informed on his/her condition. A post-hospital visit with your pediatrician will usually be scheduled after your child is discharged.

Please remember to bring the discharge summary to this follow up visit.

Unless your child is sick, children over age 3 are generally seen once a year for their annual check up. The easiest way to remember this is to schedule his/her visit around their birthday.

• During your children’s first year of life, well visits are scheduled 3 days after birth, at 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months and at 12 months.

• During your child’s second year, well visits are scheduled for 15 months, 18 months and 24 months.

• During your child’s third year, well visits are scheduled at 30 months and 36 months.

In the interest of continuity of care, we encourage you to schedule your well visits with your primary provider. If your child is sick, we cannot guarantee your provider will be available or on the schedule that day.

A well-child visit (also called a preventive or annual physical exam) is a routine appointment focused on your child’s overall health and development. It typically includes a review of your child’s medical, family, and social history; age-appropriate screenings and immunizations; developmental assessments; physical examination; and preventive health counseling.

A Combined Care visit happens when your child’s clinician addresses and completes more than one type of care during the same appointment. This may include completing a well-child visit during a sick visit, if your child is due, or addressing additional medical concerns during a scheduled well-child visit. Combined Care visits allow families to take care of everything in one visit rather than scheduling a return appointment.

Well-child visits are considered preventive care and are typically covered by insurance at no cost to you. However, when additional concerns or conditions are evaluated and managed during the same visit, insurance plans may apply additional copays, deductibles, or coinsurance based on the patient’s specific benefits. This billing reflects the additional time, medical decision-making, and complexity involved in addressing concerns beyond the preventive exam.

Preventive services typically covered as part of a well-child visit include: a conversation about your child’s medical history (including social and family history), height and weight screening, age-appropriate immunizations (based on your plan’s coverage), developmental and behavioral screenings, routine physical examination, and preventive health counseling such as nutrition and safety guidance.

Additional billing may apply when your child’s clinician evaluates or manages concerns beyond the preventive exam, such as new symptoms (fever, cough, rash, ear pain), chronic or ongoing conditions (asthma, allergies, ADHD), medication concerns or prescription refills, behavioral or mental health evaluations, and certain specialized screenings (autism evaluations, adolescent depression screenings, and similar) that fall outside your plan’s preventive coverage.

Most insurance plans cover the preventive portion of a well-child visit at no cost. However, coverage for additional services to address conditions or concerns varies by plan. We recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to understand your specific benefits, including any copays, deductibles, or coinsurance that may apply to non-preventive services.

Absolutely. If you prefer to keep your visit focused on only what your child was initially scheduled for, you can let your child’s clinician know. Any additional care can be scheduled as a separate return appointment. However, many families find it more convenient to address everything in one visit rather than making an additional trip to the office. Your clinician will always prioritize your child’s health and safety, so if a concern requires immediate attention, they will discuss this with you.

If you have questions about charges from your child’s visit, please contact our billing department. Our team can help explain the services billed, assist with insurance questions, and work with you on any concerns. You can also contact your insurance provider directly for details on your specific plan’s coverage.

Sometimes additional services that were already documented and provided during your child’s visit are identified through a post-visit review and billed accordingly.  

As documentation is finalized and reviewed, claims may be updated to ensure services provided during the visit are accurately reflected and submitted to the patient’s insurance plan. If you have questions about a specific charge, please contact our billing team.

A telemedicine visit is a video conference with a Pediatric Associates provider. Based on certain qualifying conditions, this type of visit can be conducted instead of going into the office to be seen.

You may sign up for KidzDocNow by visiting www.kidzdocnow.us or by downloading the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Once you open the app or website, select "Sign Up Now" and follow the prompts which will guide you to enter your information as well as each of your child's information. Your KidzDocNow account will then be linked to your children's medical records, allowing you to request an on-demand telehealth visit and allowing your telehealth clinician to access medical information. You may also call your doctor's office to schedule a telehealth appointment.

Good news: we do not require appointments for virtual visits! You can enter the KidzDocNow app and initiate an on-demand visit at any time, day or night, and wait to be seen by the first available clinician.

In addition to on-demand visits (see above), you can also schedule a telehealth appointment by calling your office or (855) KIDZ-DOC.

Our clinicians treat many minor illnesses, injuries, and other health concerns virtually. We start by asking specific questions and gathering a detailed history from the parent or guardian, then using the video connection as a tool to observe the child. In many cases, this is enough to make a diagnosis and come up with a treatment plan. Your online clinician also has full access to all of your child’s medical records and can prescribe medication.

If an in-person visit is needed for any reason, we will help you schedule one. Working together as a team, we make sure that your child gets a complete and comprehensive evaluation.

It’s best to conduct the visit in a private, quiet, and well-lit part of your home with a stable internet connection. Turn off the TV and put pets in another room to minimize distractions. For safety and to ensure the best quality of care, please do not conduct the visit while in a moving vehicle.

Prepare just like you would for an in-office visit, jotting down any questions or concerns ahead of time. We recommend logging on a few minutes early to sort out any technical issues. Your child (the patient) must be present for the visit. Please also have your child’s medication list and any other pertinent information handy. We look forward to seeing you!

Yes, you’ll receive both a text message and an email confirming your child’s appointment details. These reminders help ensure you have everything you need ahead of time, including the date, time, and instructions for joining the virtual visit.

Telehealth visits can be conducted via the videoconferencing app KidzDocNow. Existing patients do not have to pay any fees up front. Your insurance company will be billed first and the patient is responsible for the portion the insurance company does not cover. For self-pay patients, a telehealth visit will be $59.

If your child has not been seen for the condition you would like a referral for, you will need to schedule an appointment at our office. If you need a referral for a follow up visit for a condition your child has been seen for, you can visit the patient portal to make the request. When your referral is completed, you will be contacted by our office. This should be completed within 5-7 business days.

Contact your office and let them know what medication you need refilled and the phone number for your pharmacy.

Pediatric Associates parents and requesters will use RecordQuest’s Online Request Portal to submit a request for medical records. Patients and requesters can receive records within a 24-48 hour timeframe from submission. RecordQuest provides bilingual customer service for patients and requesters seeking information on instructions using the request portal, record release status and more. No. Both the portal and the healow app are free, so you can always have easy access to your health records, stay informed, and make good health care decisions.

1. In the “Appointments” section, click “New Appointment.”

2. Then select visit reason and preferred location.

3. You’ll see a list of clinicians working in your selected location, as well as the next available appointment.

4. Select the date and time you prefer and add your appointment details.

5. A 4-digit verification code will be sent to the phone number listed on your account.

6. Enter the code, then click “Verify and Book.”

7. You’ll see your appointment details in the “Dashboard” section of the Portal.

In the ‘’Medical Records” section, click ‘’Lab Diagnostic Report.’’

In the Portal web browser, click on the section named ‘’Medical Records,’’ and select “Immunization History.” You will have an option to print your medical records in this section.

In the Messages section, click “Refill Requests.” You will see a list of current medications. Select the medication you need and click “Refill Request.” If no refills are available, we recommend you schedule an appointment in the “Appointments” section.

A proxy account allows a designated individual to access and manage another person's health information. This is typically used by parents accessing their children's records.

In adherence of the Cures Act, Parents/legal guardians will receive login credentials that will allow them to access multiple children’s information using a single login.
